Firetrace Fire Protection Systems

Firetrace is a fire detection and fire suppression system specifically designed for small enclosures Firetrace systems were designed to not need electrical power, be self-contained, and often are thought of as an automatic fire extinguishers. They can be used with a variety of suppressants like foam, CO2 and clean agents to name a few. All Firetrace systems have the patented red tubing that is used for both detection and suppressing in some systems.

Different Types of Firetrace Systems

There a few different types of ways a Firetrace system can be installed. The first is a direct release system. This type of system is where the tubing runs in a confined area and when heat gets up to the tube, the tube will rupture and the suppressant will emit from the hole in the tube. This type of system is used in small enclosed areas or equipment for quick fire suppression. The second is an indirect release system. In this type of system, the red tube acts as a fire detection system and fire suppressant trigger. Once the heat hits the tube and it ruptures, the tubing system drops in pressure and sends a signal back to the fire suppression system to activate to put out the fire. This type of system can be used in small or large enclosed areas. When you go with an indirect release system, this will give you more fire protection coverage with a piping system that will extinguish a fire in a larger space. High pressure systems are another type of firetrace system that is often used. It is compressed with CO2 that will disperse into an enclosed area once the red tube detects heat and ruptures.
