These are just a few of the projects 3S has worked on in the recent past:

HSHS Data Center - Springfield, IL.

  • 8,000 lbs. of NOVEC 1230 protect this state of the art Data Center.

Harley Davidson – Tomahawk, WI.

  • 3S Incorporated installed the detection and controls for the protection of the electrostatic painting operations. We utilized optical flame detection and Notifier addressable controls in custom build enclosures.

Mazda Mexico – Salamanca City, MX.

  • Prime fire protection contractor for Paint Shop.

Arcelor Mittal – Indiana

  • Video smoke and flame detection installation protecting Tandem Cold Rolling Mill.

Ford – EMDO

  • Victaulic Vortex protecting engine test cells.

Martin Brower – St. Johns, MI.

  • Linear heat detection for cold storage releasing Quell suppression systems.

BP Refinery – Ohio

  • Vesda smoke detection for 10 substations.

Caterpillar – East Peoria, IL.

  • CO2 system protecting heat treat furnace.

AK Steel  - Rockport, IN

  • Controls upgrade for CPL.

Data Realty Data Center - South Bend, IN.

  • 5,000 lbs. of NOVEC 1230 protect this state of the art Data Center.

University of Kentucky Data Center - Lexington, KY

  • Vesda early warning detection and FM200 protect this Data Center that utilizes a Hot Aisle/Cold Aisle configuration.

GKN Sinter Metals - Salem , IN

  • Installation of explosion suppression systems for dust collection.

NISSAN - Smyrna, TN

  • 3S Incorporated installed the detection and controls for the protection of the electrostatic painting operations. We utilized optical flame detection and Notifier addressable controls in custom build enclosures.

Severstal – Dearborn, MI

  • 3S Incorporated designed and is installing an industrial Notifier plant wide fire alarm system and an unique Victaulic Vortex water mist fire suppression system. The Victaulic Vortex system will be protecting the pickling line, exhaust ducts, acid tanks, electrical rooms, pulpits and the server rooms at Severstal’s new facility. The pickling line Vortex system utilizes advanced optical flame detection and heat detectors designed by 3S that are capable of operation when subjected to fugitive vapor from the pickling operation. Extensive use of BIM has identified conflicts and facilitated coordination between contractors before component fabrication and installation.

Volkswagen – Chattanooga, TN

  • 3S Incorporated installed the detection and controls equipment to protect the electrostatic painting operations using water mist suppression. We designed and installed a sophisticated CO2 system that discharges CO2 directly into the paint spray pattern. Optical flame detection was utilized for quick response along with Notifier addressable controls. We built in the capability for the controls to connect to and integrate with the paint shop Profibus.

Kia – West Point, GA

  • 3S Incorporated installed the detection and controls for the protection of the electrostatic painting operations. We utilized optical flame detection and Notifier addressable controls in custom build enclosures.

New Indianapolis Airport Midfield Terminal

  • 3S Incorporated installed all of the clean agent fire suppression systems in the New Indianapolis Airport Midfield Terminal. We utilized Ansul’s Sapphire system with 3M’s NOVEC 1230 fire suppression agent for an environmentally friendly solution to mission critical protection. In addition to the clean agent systems we also installed the detection and controls for the sprinkler systems protecting the baggage handling areas and atrium.

Honda Greensburg

  • 3S Incorporated installed the controls and detection for the protection of the electrostatic painting operations at Honda in Greensburg IN. We utilized optical flame detection and Notifier addressable controls in custom build enclosures.

Toyota Woodstock

  • 3S Incorporated installed the controls and detection for the protection of the electrostatic painting operations at Toyota Woodstock, Ontario. We utilized optical flame detection and addressable controls in custom build enclosures.

GM Powertrain Engineering Indianapolis

  • 3S Incorporated combined fire alarm, medical emergency, severe weather notification and fire suppression release into one addressable/intelligent system. This single system extended to the test cell area of the building. These five test cells are being protected by a revolutionary new fire suppression technology called Victaulic Vortex. The Vortex system is a water mist and nitrogen mixture that is safe for occupancy, environmentally friendly and boasts superior fire suppression capability.

North American Stainless

  • Building on our industrial experience and capability, 3S Incorporated designed and installed a Victaulic Vortex system for the protection of NAS’s pickling lines. In addition to the suppression system, 3S has developed a heat detector capable of operation even when subjected to fugitive vapor from the pickling operation.

IU Data Center

  • 3S Incorporated was the prime fire protection contractor for the new IU Data Center. This 80,000 sq ft facility is one of the largest of its kind. 3S was responsible for the fire alarm, air sampling and sprinkler systems. The air sampling system is one of the largest installed Vesda systems in the country with 54 networked detectors and 10,000 ft of air sampling pipe.

GM San Luis Potosi and GM Toluca

  • 3S Incorporated installed the controls and detection for the protection of the electrostatic painting operations at GM San Luis Potosi and GM Toluca. We utilized optical flame detection and addressable controls in custom build enclosures.
